Dr. Sacks was born and raised in Toms River, NJ, where he graduated with honors from Toms River High School North. He then received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. After college, Dr. Sacks was accepted to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), where he earned his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry degree with honors. While attending UMDNJ, Dr. Sacks was elected president of his class and president of the Student Government Association, and he won numerous academic and student leadership awards for his achievements. Immediately following dental school, Dr. Sacks attended Montefiore Medical Center’s Graduate Orthodontic Program, where he attained his Post Doctoral Certificate in Orthodontics and served as the hospital’s chief orthodontic resident.

A unique aspect of Dr. Sacks’ advanced orthodontic training is that while many orthodontists spend two years studying orthodontics in a dental school setting, Dr. Sacks attended a prestigious three-year, hospital-based residency program at one of New York’s top hospitals. The fact that Dr. Sacks is a hospital-trained orthodontist allows him to treat even the most complex orthodontic problems. Additionally, prior to opening his own practice, Dr. Sacks was fortunate enough to work for three other highly regarded orthodontists who mentored him extensively and helped further refine his skills.

Dr. Sacks uses his seven years of advanced dental training and years of private practice experience to create beautiful, long-lasting, healthy smiles and to deliver the highest quality care available to you and your family.

Dr. Sacks is a Diplomate, of the American Board of Orthodontics, a certified Invisalign, SimpliClear and Incognito provider, and he has numerous professional affiliations that include, the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Board of Orthodontists, the Mid-Atlantic Association of Orthodontists, the New Jersey Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Essex County Dental Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, and the New Jersey Dental Association. Dr. Sacks also serves as an orthodontic advisor for several local dental study clubs and regularly attends continuing education courses across the country to stay abreast of the latest techniques and scientific developments within the field.

New Jersey Monthly Magazine, NJ Family Magazine and A Guide to America’s Top Dentists have named Dr. Sacks one of New Jersey’s and the nation’s Top Orthodontists multiple times. Dr. Sacks has also been invited to speak across the country on contemporary techniques in orthodontics.

In his spare time, Dr. Sacks enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Jill, and their children, twins Gracie and Henry. He also enjoys golf, traveling, and helping support the local community and serves on the West Orange Zoning Board.
